During the 18th century the exactions for military purposes were very frequent. Toens were demanded to quarter and supply the regiments of regular tropos which crossed them. Here we have studied the way Vélez-Málaga met those urgent necessities trying to reléase the people, both residents and no residents, from the direct responsability for the quarters, as well as the necessary steps taken in order to purchase straw fro the cavalry.
