Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

 

Submissions should be sent to the University of Malaga’s OJS platform using the following link: http://www.revistas.uma.es/index.php/trans/user/register. Articles should be unpublished and present results from original research; they should be 6,000 to 9,000 words long (not including appendices), while research notes should be 3,000 to 5,000 words long. Book reviews should be 1,500 to 2,000 words long and must include a scanned image of the cover of the book under review. All reviewed books must have been published within the three years prior to when the issue of TRANS is released.

Articles and research notes should include the following heading: title, author, institutional affiliation. Articles and research notes should include a 50-100 word abstract written in the original language and in English and should also include the title in English. (If the article or research notes are written in English, they should also include an abstract in Spanish.) In addition, they should include three to six key words in each of these languages.

The journal follows the APA Style of referencing and quotation.

Footnotes are reserved for providing clarifications or comments to the text when needed. Images, graphics and tables will be reproduced in black and white.

For all articles and research notes written in Romance languages English quotation marks (" ") will be used; the simple quotation marks (' ') should only be used to quote fragments inside already quoted passages.

In general, words in foreign languages and Latin abbreviations should be written in italics. The typographical syntax rules of each individual language should be respected. For Spanish, the reference is the Royal Spanish Academy: Diccionario de la lengua española, 23.ª edición (2014) and Ortografía de la lengua española (2010).

Book reviews should have the following heading: Title of book being reviewed, AUThOR, Publishing company, City of publication, year, number of pages and Name of person signing the review.

All submissions should include the following information: title of publication, professional or academic title of the person signing the work, mailing address, telephone number and e-mail.

All original submissions will be peer reviewed anonymously by at least two specialists, whose suggestions, if necessary, should be taken into account by the authors. Book reviews will be evaluated by the journal’s Editorial Board.
