About the Journal

Focus and Scope

TRANS Revista de Traductología is a peer-reviewed international journal published by the Department of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Malaga. It seeks to disseminate scientific research on the processes of interpreting, linguistic translation and intersemiotic translation in all their many manifestations, whether it be from a historical, theoretical, methodological, educational, descriptive or practical perspective. Research dealing with intercultural contact and comparative rhetoric may also be admitted, provided they are addressed from the perspective of Translation Studies. TRANS is published mainly for translation specialists, including researchers, teachers or professional translators and interpreters. The journal is issued annually and (barring rare exceptions) publishes articles written in Spanish, French or English.

Opinions expressed in the texts published in TRANS are the authors’ own and do not necessarily reflect the journal’s official positions. Articles in TRANS Revista de Traductología are listed in the ISOC databases of the Superior Council of Scientific Research (CSIC). Likewise, abstracts are published in the specialized journal Translation Studies Abstracts  (TSA) of the St. Jerome Publishing Company (United Kingdom). TRANS Revista de Traductología is included in the following national and international directories: Carhus Plus, CIRC, Dialnet, Latindex, MIAR, MLA, RESH and Ulrich’s Periodical Directory and its articles are reviewed in BITRA. It is also listed in the collective catalogues of SUDOC (France), ZDB OPAC (Germany) and OCLC World Cat (international).

In 2011 TRANS Revista de Traductología was recognized as a scientific journal of excellence by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), an institution under the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.
