Abstract

Education from the perspective of the theory of human capital is a specific form of investment that has been called human capital. After conducting a literature review of empirical studies that have determined the yield of different educational levels in Spain we have calculated the yields of Vocational Training studies for both Intermediate and Advanced Degree. In doing so, information from the Wage Structure Survey (2002, 2006 and 2010) was used and we applied the Mincer earnings equation. The yields associated to study these degrees have been determined for Spain and for each Regions. The results obtained in this study confirm that the Vocational Training (both Intermediate and Advanced Level) are profitable investments for individuals who enrolled in them since the lowest annual yield obtained is 2.4 percent annually.
