¿Cómo transformar los modelos input-output para calcular multiplicadores netos?

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to calculate net input-output multipliers using different adjustments on the Leontief inverse, without simply removing part of its elements. Moreover, in order to increase the accuracy of the estimation, a standardization of the inverse is offered. The empirical application is presented for the Galician economy, based on the year 2011. A comparison between the proposed extended methodology and the traditional I-O techniques is shown, throughout the results obtained in the estimation of the backward and forward sectoral linkages. With this new approach, some of the conventional key sectors will not appear as such, like the case of the construction sector.
