The goal of this paper is to reanalyze one of the richest philosophical-scientific debates in Western culture, that is, the one led by Leibnizand Newton (through the figure of Clarke). If these debates were so important, it is because they discussed the fundamental concepts of boththinkers. We Will try to see to what extent their views differed.
