Errata, corrections and retractions

The resolution of claims and/or appeals is the task and power of the Editorial Board and the Board of Directors of Metafísica y Persona, in accordance with the result of the peer review procedure (see Peer Review Policy).

Conflicts of interest.
According to COPE criteria, “conflict of interest” is understood as any situation in which personal, academic, political, economic or commercial interests could influence the process of reviewing a text and thus bias a publication proposal.
For this reason, Metafísica y Persona urges both authors and reviewers to inform the Editorial and/or Management Committee of any potential conflict of interest in the content, review or approval of a manuscript that may be submitted. The Committees in question must make the relevant decisions to avoid any potential conflict of interest at any time during the editorial process.

Procedure for submitting claims and/or appeals:

Authors may exercise the right to submit claims and/or appeals if they consider: that an error has been committed in the transparency of the process; that discriminatory or unfair treatment has been received; that there are differences with respect to the editorial decisions. This right can be exercised within the following 30 calendar days from the original editorial decision.

As for the procedure itself, the interested author must send the claim and/or appeal, in writing, to the email address: livia.bastos@upaep.mx . Said writing must include specific details about the nature of the claim/appeal as well as the evidence and proof that is considered relevant to the claim.

The Editorial Team will be responsible for examining each and every complaint and/or appeal received in a specific manner. If the Editorial Team has been directly involved in the contested decision, they will not have to participate in the review and the Board of Directors will appoint a member of the Editorial Board to carry out this task. The response time must not exceed 30 calendar days from the receipt of the complaint/appeal. In extraordinary cases, the author must be informed within this period if more time is needed to fully satisfy the response.
The final decision will determine with complete clarity and transparency whether the complaint/appeal is valid; if so, it will be corrected and adjusted as necessary; if not, the original editorial decision must be maintained, with a clear, objective and reasoned justification. The final decision, in one sense or another, will be notified to the author in writing, explaining in detail the reasons that support it as well as the actions to be taken based on the result.
