This article has two aims: first, to gain a deeper understanding of the spirit of revenge as a unique concept in Thus Spoke Zarathustra, being directly referred to time and to eternal recurrence. Building on this understanding, Heidegger’s interpretation of the spirit of revenge is reviewed and criticized as well as the question of overcoming it.
