Übermensch, Dionysus, Russian simbolysm, Russian religious philosophyAbstract
The article outlines the destiny of the Übermensch and Dionysus in Russia among the symbolist writers D. Merezkovski, V. Ivanov, and A. Biely, all members of the so-called «God-seekers» (bogoiskateli). The God-seekers are a group of philosophers and symbolist writers, heterogeneous in their proposals, pursuing the same goal: to revitalize Christian religion. In Nietzsche they see the prophet of the new religion sought. This eminently religious perception of Nietzsche was conditioned by the philosophy of Vladimir Soloviev.
