This paper deals with issues concerning scientific identity and specificity of experimental psychology and cognitive neuroscience, autonomy of psychology in its analysis of cognitive processes, and relationships between them. Discussion is focused on memory systems from the points of view of psychology and of neuroscience. Discussion, however, is broaden to relationships between «mind» (and cognition, and consciousness) and brain or, rather, between ways of study and theories of them.
