Resumen

El estudio de la resiliencia ha adquirido un marcado protagonismo en la actualidad, aun tratándose de un ámbito con una larga trayectoria. Sin embargo, no existe una definición unánimemente aceptada sobre la misma, a pesar de su indudable relevancia en el campo de la salud. En este marco, se está comenzando a prestar atención al papel que la resiliencia desempeña en la adaptación a la patología física, como la representada por el dolor crónico. Los escasos estudios efectuados hasta ahora en este contexto la muestran como una variable ciertamente relevante en la adaptación al dolor crónico. Sin embargo, las diferencias en la conceptuación y medición de la misma no permiten extraer conclusiones definitivas, lo que hace necesario seguir realizando investigaciones en esta área.
