RESUMEN
Es frecuente oír a políticos y a funcionarios hacer referencia a políticas de igualdad de oportunidades para hombres y mujeres, para inmigrantes o discapacitados. En las páginas que siguen, trataré de mostrar algunas de las características comunes del concepto de igualdad de oportunidades tal y como lo presentan algunos autores liberales. Abordaré cuestiones tales como el papel que juegan las responsabilidades individuales y las colectivas en nuestras elecciones y ambiciones, los valores del mérito y la importancia que tienen el influjo de las circunstancia en nuestras vidas, en nuestras oportunidades y proyectos.

ABTRACT
Frecuently we see how polititians and public servants make reference to equality of opportunity policies focuses on men and women, inmigrants or handicaped people. In the following pages I will try to show some of the common characteristics of the equality of opportunity concept as it is elaborated by some liberal authoirs. I will consider issues like the role of individual and collective responsibilities over our choices and ambitions, the value of merits, and the influence of circumstances on our lifes, chances and projects.
