Politicising the Verfallen: indications for a critical reconstruction of the ontological problem of the Fall

This article aims to reconstruct the ontological understanding underlying the different thematizations of the phenomenon of the Fall in Heidegger and Marcuse. I hold that the extension of 'ontological difference' is essentially different, given the 'dialectical correctness' of phenomenology demanded by Marcuse. In contrast to an originally temporal understanding of being, a normative dimension is introduced into the temporal unfolding of being. Thereby, a fundamentally different understanding of the Fall is given. The indications of this problematic are elaborated on the basis of their own particular reception of Hegelian philosophy.
