RESUMEN
Este ensayo intenta aportar una perspectiva nueva sobre la importancia que, en la evolución intelectual de Nietzsche, tiene el abandono de la filología clásica junto con la comprensión romántica del mundo griego expresada en El nacimiento de la tragedia. Se estudian, para ello, las lecciones que, bajo el título El culto griego a los dioses, impartió Nietzsche en Basilea en 1875, donde se muestra el fondo mágico y la significación política de la religión griega, así como su dimensión educadora y transfiguradora de las fuerzas irracionales del hombre. Al mismo tiempo se atiende al surgimiento del método genealógico con el que Nietzsche llevará a cabo su crítica a la cultura occidental.

ABSTRACT
This paper focuses on te importance that in Nietzsche´s intelectual evolurion has the abansonment of classical philology and of the Romantic view of the Greek world developed in The birth of tragedy. It studies the lessons, collected under the title of The Greek cult of gods, that Nietzsche gave in Basle in 1875. There appears the magical background and the political significance of Greek religión, as well as its educative dimensión, transformative of man´s irrational forces. The paper also studies the origin of Nietzsche´s genealogy, through wich he addressed his critique to western culture.
