Søren Kierkegaard has been commonly regarded as a hinge between idealism and the philosophies of existence, somehow located between the belief in an objective spirit and the subjectivist claim that finds accommodation in the agitated twentieth century. Because of his existence in this context of crossroads, it seems obliged to identify and isolate the actual philosophical question within his peculiar production. A production abundant in interrogations, red herrings and fictional authors, with concerns that belong to different fields, from aesthetics to theology. Due to his inherent problematics, the concept of ambiguity -which he himself thematized- can be understood as key in the critical approach to his work, as a true “counter-concept”.
