Se trata de un ensayo en el que Josep Maria Esqiurol reflexiona acerca de lo más profundo de lo humano, concluyendo que lo más característico del humano es una suerte de conmoción, un estar efectado por algo, y no algún tipo de poder o capacidad. El enfoque del libro nos presenta una antropología orientada hacia la compañía, el cuidado y el amparo.
