Abstract

The units of integral forensic evaluation in the Basque Country respond to the requests of expert reports from the competent courts in gender violence matters, carrying out the forensic evaluation both on the victims (women and children) as on the accused. This research analyses a series of relevant variables for the integral forensic evaluation taking as a sample the expert reports carried out by the UVFI (unit of integral forensic evaluation) of Guipúzcoa on the female victims during 2010. In particular, the authors have analysed the damages related to gender violence (the psychopathological, psychological and social affectations), the emotional dependence (the tendency to remain in the affective relationship despite having reported the abuse) and when did the violence begin and for how long had they lived together before it began.
