Forced displacement is today a huge challenge for the 21st Century Society. The legal configuration of asylum in all its complexity is setting a paradox around the term «refugee», due to the current lack of safeguarding the rights of the displaced persons, becoming the general rule. This is despite the existence of international standards governing the refugee legal framework and other forms of international protection.
