Abstract

This paper aims to put the military expedition of Sonora as a political, military and financial success within a perspective that could be called trans-Atlantic. That is, that the said campaign is seen as a manifestation of the impulses of metropolitan origin, but also and mainly as part of complex social processes that developed in New Spain whit general visit of José de Gálvez y Gallardo.
