Abstract

The 2020 United States presidential election has represented a milestone due to the intensity of the campaign, the context of pandemic or, among other issues, the high social conflict experienced after its culmination, with the assault on the Capitol on January 6 as the maximum expression of virulence. But, furthermore, they have also been the scenario for the launching of initiatives that could be perceived as groundbreaking, with politicians and candidates developing actions that allowed them to connect with new and young audiences through channels and formats not previously used. This has been the case of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who on October 20 livestreamed on Twitch a game, along with prominent content creators, of the video game Among Us, with a peak audience of more than 400,000 people connected at the same time, in which could be established as a new form of connecting with the people.
