Abstract

Mythology is the second most used theme in the history of plastic arts, after religion. From its beginning, it has almost always been present. This essay tackles how classic mythology has been represented in the history of art. The teaching value of images is
widely accepted, as our society is mainly image -based. Therefore, one of the most effective approaches to study classical myths is iconography, in particular, works that from the end of ancient times, have intended to show them in either of its forms.
