Oficinas de didática do Latim: uma proposta para a formaçâo contínua de professores

Over the past decades, we have been witnessing a gradual, sharp reduction in the Latin presence in the curricula, particularly marked in the Portuguese case. However, in recent times there is a remarkable effort to slowly reintroduce the classical languages and cultures in the Portuguese education system, recognizing the essential role they play in the cultural and civic education of youngsters. Consequently, there is a need to equate training solutions to support teachers who have embraced or may
embrace this challenge at short notice. It was in this context that a workshop in didactics of Latin (Oficinas de Didática do Latim) was designed and implemented, aiming at addressing the lack of specific training offers, at national level, in the area of Classical Culture and Languages. In this paper, the way they this e-learning workshop was structured and operationalized is depicted, and its high participation/interaction suggests it was timely, and, thereof, should be continued.
