Abstract

The objective of the present study was to investigate the effects of bilateral deficit (BLD) in the countermovement jump (CMJ) and its association with kinematic variables when performing the 505 test, which consists of performing a 15-meter sprint with the change of direction (CoD). 28 college basketball players participated in this study and were classified according to the BLD from the height of the CMJ jump, divided into 3 groups. The results show significant differences (p<,05)  in the asymmetry between the legs, deceleration time, reacceleration time, time in a change of direction, and deficit in a change of direction. When analyzing the differences between legs according to the BLD classification, no significant differences (p>0.05) were found in the variables evaluated. In conclusion, it was found that a higher BLD has an effect on lower performance in the variables of the 505 test and not when comparing it between legs.
