This paper analyzes the proposal of Francisco Rodríguez-Valls for the interdisciplinary dialogue between philosophy and empirical sciences, as an alternative to the methodological proposals of Galileo and Schelling. Faced with the proposal of the explanation- understanding duality, which removes philosophy from scientific interests, the synoptic or epagogic vision is proposed as a contribution of philosophy to the interdisciplinary dialogue with sciences. All this is exemplified by the synoptic or epagogical understanding of both precocial and altricial birth of the human being.
