Idiotas antes que Personas? La Crisis Educativa en la Era Neoliberal

La universidad, otrora lugar de formación de ciudadanos, recula cada vez más ante el peso abrumador del neoliberalismo. Mientras la democracia pierde terreno frente a regímenes posdemocráticos y populistas que se conservan las formas democráticas mientras abandonan su esencia, la universidad adopta progresivamente enfoques formalistas para la producción en masa de trabajadores útiles, individuos egocéntricos incapaces de pensamiento crítico e independiente. Estos individuos narcisistas (“idiotas”, en el sentido del griego ?????) no asumen su papel como ciudadanos tolerantes, participativos y activos. Este trabajo traza los paralelismos entre lo político y lo académico, afirmando que, al final, ambos se apoyan en el mismo rechazo a una noción robusta de la persona humana y su dignidad, que está en la base de cualquier experimento democrático.
