Abstract

María Zambrano states that in the last two centuries, God has been replaced by Progress, History… as man’s destiny; Grossman, in turn, explains the moment and causes of this exile, offering the keys to rediscover God. German Idealism, French Positivism, Marxism and other schools, led by Hegel, burdened Consciousness and the Human with the weight of divinity. And they did it by falling into contempt for men, since man could not incarnate the divine on an individual level. How can we get out of this meaningless spiral? By returning to the moment when this man-God divorce first began. Through different characters in his Life and Destiny, Grossman gives us the keys: the horrors of the 20th century not only annihilated freedom, transcendent freedom, the longing and the quest for plenitude, but they exacerbated it even more. And here, in this search for the Infinite, we rediscover our common destiny.
