Dance is a physical activity that is characterized by the movement of the body through sequences and rhythms, generally accompanied by varied musical styles and, because of its nature, it is related to psychological benefits because it is considered a means of emotional expression for being part of art’s world. In the present study, a systematic review of the scientific literature published in the period 2014-2023, on the impact that the practice of dance has on well-being was carried out. The systematic analysis revealed that the practice of dance has benefits on well-being in different populations and cultures regardless of the type of dance, having lasting effects in the short, medium and long term. Dance, in addition to being a recreational or cultural activity, can be used as a specific therapeutic resource for the treatment of different mental disorders.
