Two Studies are reported. Correlations between personality factors and ways of coping have been obtained in young people. Results show that people who score high on Neuroticism tend to adopt malaptive coping behaviors. Extraversion, Internal Locus of Control, Social Adaptation and Personal Well-being correlate negatively with maladaptive coping behaviors. When partial correlations are computed, only Extraversion and Personal Well-being had a significant correlation with dimension of adaptive coping.
