Edition of an unpublished biobibliographical note on the literary critic Manuel Cañete (1822-1891), written by Juan Luis Alborg and preserved in his personal archive, now held at the University of Málaga. Following a contextualization within the historiographical framework of the second half of the twentieth century and an examination of the text’s content and stylistic features, the study puts forward two hypotheses concerning the possible purpose for which the text may have been written.
