Ruben Dario and the ‘landscapes of culture’
Keywords:
Dario, Modernism, painting, ekphrasis, synesthesiaAbstract
This piece of work focuses a specific aspect of Ruben Dario’s production: the attention the Nicaraguan poet pays to the plastic arts, since his stay in Santiago de Chile. A supporter as he was of the concept of the unity of the arts, Ruben Dario transferred to narrative prose, poetry and chronicles a series of images that help him to build his “landscapes of culture” (so defined by Pedro Salinas), essential in the Literary scope of Hispanic modernism.
