Abstract

On this present year 2016 is the commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the famous Inca Garcilaso de la Vega´´´ s death, whom Mario Vargas Llosa also called The Cusqueño of Montilla, in clear reference to his mixed genetics. His influence was projected around Córdoba and few towns in the province where he stayed and settled in times of Luis de Góngora. The most significant towns of the province where he stayed were Montilla and Las Posadas and documentary evidence is provided. This review is about Las Posadas, its direct and less known link to his alderman and old friend, Gonzalo Silvestre. It is about the exploits and anecdotes that they shared in common. About how the quest for recognition and nobility of one, in his eagerness to get real merits, caught in the Inca the need to reassert itself as a noble mestizo, to clear the name of his late father and projecting the true brokenness of the Spaniards in their conquests; in Peru and in Florida.
Although Silvestre was identified and recognized as the main informant of The Florida del Inca, our historical essay reveals the influence of the old Spanish captain over the most famous works of the Peruvian writer: Royal Commentaries of the Incas, and then as General History of Peru, under signature of Inca Garcilaso de la Vega.
