Relación VO2max indirecto -velocidad promedio en atletas de marcha universitarios: estudio piloto

Resumen

El desempeño de atletas de marcha está asociado a su VO2max. El VO2max se puede obtener a través del Test de Cooper, que lo mide indirectamente en ml/kg/min y velocidad promedio en km/h, a la fecha existen pocos estudios que relacionen dichas medidas entre sí y con el desempeño de atletas de marcha. Por ello en este estudio piloto probamos la relación entre el VO2max indirecto y la velocidad promedio en atletas de marcha estudiando en la Universidad Veracruzana en México. Para ello consideramos tres atletas y tres temporadas y analizamos los datos usando regresión lineal generalizada con dos factores (atleta y temporada). Encontramos que en estos atletas existió una relación significativa positiva entre su VO2max indirecto y velocidad promedio (F = 249.44, gl = 2, 6, P < 0.00001, R2 = 0.984). La relación VO2max indirecto y velocidad promedio debería ser verificada por otros estudios en el futuro.
