Aims and Scope

The ELECTRONIC JOURNAL OF DIDACTICS OF TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING (redit) is a peer-reviewed electronic journal of a scientific nature, published annually.

Peer review process

redit. Revista Electrónica de Didáctica de la Traducción y la Interpretación subjects all original articles received to a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers remain mutually anonymous throughout.

Each manuscript first undergoes an initial editorial assessment (desk review), in which the Editorial Board verifies its thematic suitability, its originality and its compliance with the journal's guidelines. The outcome of this first stage is communicated to the authors within an indicative period of less than three months from receipt of the manuscript.

Manuscripts that pass this stage are sent to a minimum of two external expert reviewers, specialists in the field of the work, who evaluate the article independently. Before assigning each manuscript, the Editorial Board verifies that the proposed reviewers neither share institutional affiliation with the authors nor have any other conflict of interest with them (recent collaboration, thesis supervision relationship, etc.). If, during the evaluation, a reviewer becomes aware of a possible conflict of interest arising from the content of the work, they must inform the Editorial Board, which will reassign the manuscript.

Each reviewer issues a reasoned and confidential report and recommends one of the following decisions: acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, revision with re-evaluation, or rejection. In the event of a substantial discrepancy between the reports, the Editorial Board will request a third report to settle the decision. The final decision rests with the Editorial Board on the basis of the reports received. When an article is rejected, the Editorial Board always communicates the reasons for the decision to the authors.

The outcome of the peer review process is communicated to the authors within an indicative period of less than eight months from receipt of the manuscript.

The contents published and the opinions expressed in the articles are the sole responsibility of their authors. The publication of a work in redit does not imply that the Editorial Board endorses the views defended therein.

redit reserves the right to reject or decline to publish works that violate its editorial policy, the principles of research integrity, the dignity of individuals, equality or fundamental rights.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides open access to its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

redit maintains a plagiarism-prevention policy to ensure that all published works are previously unpublished. To this end, it makes professional use of the Crossref Similarity Check service (iThenticate) in order to analyse all submissions received. This service is applied to manuscripts that have passed the initial stage of the editorial process and are eligible to be sent for blind peer review. The journal reserves the right to reject any articles that present an inappropriate similarity percentage. Complementary plagiarism-detection tools are also used, such as Unicheck, an open-access platform that allows the originality of texts to be verified and possible matches to be detected.

Policy on the Use of AI

Authors may make occasional use of AI tools, for example as support in literature searches. When authors use generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process, these technologies should be used only to improve the language or the general readability of the work. They should not be used to replace fundamental authorship tasks such as the development of theoretical contributions. All work must be carefully reviewed and edited to ensure that responsibility for the content is assumed by the author, bearing in mind that AI may generate output that appears plausible but may be incorrect, incomplete or biased. Authors are ultimately responsible for the content of the work and must answer for it.

The reasonable use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies must be declared in the manuscript. This declaration will appear in the published work. Declaring the use of these technologies fosters transparency and trust among authors, readers, reviewers, editors and contributors. Nevertheless, the editors consider that excessive use of AI constitutes a reputational risk for the journal. For this reason, if it is found that entire sections of the text, such as the results or the discussion, have been generated by AI, the editors reserve the right to reject the article, even if it has passed peer review.

Likewise, authors must not list generative AI or AI-assisted technologies as authors or co-authors, nor cite AI as an author.

Article Processing Charges

Under no circumstances will authors be required to pay charges for the processing of articles in this journal.

Digital Preservation Policy

All journal content (website, manuscripts, etc.) is stored across multiple systems. The content is available on an online server, accessible to readers, and an additional backup copy is also kept. The OJS software performs weekly backups through the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems. The journal has DOIs, which helps ensure the lasting accessibility of articles through Crossref. The journal's information is also available in open access in various databases, such as REBIUN and Dialnet, which reinforces the preservation of content through multiple sources.
