Resumen

El presente artículo describe y analiza diez experimentos científicos en torno a los actos libres que siguieron al experimento de Benjamin Libet, en 1983. Mediante el estudio de la actividad neuronal previa a la decisión de un acto libre, estos experimentos han intentado abordar los temas filosóficos de la conciencia y la libertad del hombre. Dada la diversidad de perspectivas y conclusiones acerca de estas nociones presentes en tales experimentos, resulta necesario un análisis y una descripción de los mismos en conjunto para, de esta manera, ofrecer un marco dentro del cual se puedan establecer futuros diálogos e investigaciones interdisciplinares.
