Preparation of Manuscripts

Original and unpublished manuscripts must be related to the topics suggested by the title and subtitle of the journal and which are specified in the Focus and Scope section. To opt for publication, it is mandatory for the manuscript to adhere to the following rules:

  1. The maximum length of the manuscript will be 70,000 characters including spaces for articles; 45,000 characters including spaces, for critical notes; and 15,000 characters including spaces, for recensions. This general rule is susceptible of exceptions, when it comes to contributions whose thematic unit requires it. Likewise, contributions that, for the same reason, exceed twice the length indicated here, may be published, in agreement with the author, in two successive numbers.
  2. The title of the contribution must appear in the original language and in English. Articles will be preceded by an abstract, between 500 and 1000 characters, followed by 5 to 7 keywords (or very short expressions); both, the abstract and the key words, should also be in the original language and in English. In the case of recensions, it is not necessary to add that additional information, is enough to include the complete data of the book reviewed, as long as the book does not exceed three years old.
  3. Manuscripts will be prepared in Word format (.doc or .docx)  according to Chicago full notes citation style with the following specifications:

Font: Times New Roman                        Font size: 11                                            Margins: 3 cm                                           Line spacing: Double

4. Citations and references. In the case of classical authors, the works will be cited according to the norms and customs usual among specialists. Thus, for example, the pre-Socratics will be cited according to Diels Kranz, Aristotle according to Bekker, Kant according to the Academy edition, Marx and Engels according to MEGA, the fragments of the young Hegel according to Nohl, etc. In the case of medieval authors for whom there is no universally accepted critical edition, they may be cited according to the structure of the work itself: Summa, Question, Commentary, etc. The above does not apply to completely marginal citations.

After the first citation of a work, the following references may use (but is not mandatory) the common abbreviations in research papers. For example, Met. for Metaphysics, Ak for the academy edition of Kant, DK for the Diels Kranz edition, KrV for the Critique of Pure Reason, etc.

In the case of other types of sources and critical literature, it must be cited according to the Chicago full notes format. Likewise, the complete bibliography at the end of the text must adhere to this format.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to unify the ways of citing in order to facilitate reading.
