Aspectos psicológicos y cognitivos del síndrome de Williams

Resumen

En este artículo se presenta una revisión de las características y alteraciones del desarrollo cognitivo de las personas con síndrome de Williams. A partir de una caracterización diagnóstica del síndrome y de su evolución, se evalúan ámbitos del desarrollo que van desde las habilidades lingüísticas y visoespaciales a otras emocionales e interactivas, relacionando este cuadro con otros trastornos del desarrollo. Finalmente se apuntan algunas conclusiones para futuras investigaciones y aplicaciones psicológicas, educativas y familiares.
