Resumen

Los estudios sobre la motivación académica desde la perspectiva de la orientación de las metas han tenido gran protagonismo en los últimos años. Sin embargo, este acercamiento conceptual y empírico no es uniforme sino que ha evolucionado desde concepciones normativas hacia otras de carácter multidimensional. El presente trabajo analiza las versiones clásica y reformulada de esta teoría, a través de los presupuestos, las evidencias empíricas, las inconsistencias y las investigaciones desarrolladas por ambas líneas de trabajo. Finalmente, evalúa las implicaciones que ha llevado consigo dar por ciertos algunos de sus principios, insuficientemente contrastados, en la práctica educativa.
