Abstract

The Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus), the most threatened feline on the planet and exclusive to the Iberian Peninsula, is listed as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Its current population is estimated at about 320 individuals, mainly distributed in two isolated breeding metapopulations: Eastern Sierra Morena (with the nuclei of Andújar-Cardeña, Guadalmellato and Guarrizas) and Doñana-Aljarafe, both in Andalusia.
