Abstract

This article aims to address the question of polyandry in our species through the study of human physiology. The aim is to show what kind of conclusions can be drawn about our mating strategies from the point of view of the physiological adaptations related to this question in humans, therefore we will look to the size of the male gonads and the typology of human spermatozoa, analysing in the process the theories that exist on the issue, as well as their relationship with the human female reproductive apparatus. Nevertheless, given that Homo sapiens is a species whose behaviour is highly plastic, it will be necessary to show the extent to which the environment can modify and condition mating behaviours, thus indicating the limit of the research approach.
