Abstract

We present in this work a summary of a report about the reasons for the abolition of this Immigration Removal Centres. The authors consider that these centers are just a sample of the hostile attitude that Europe has towards the most disadvantaged immigrants. The request for its abolition is based on very different reasons, such as that internment in these centres is an unworthy, disproportionate, opaque and inefficient measure, with an occupation below capacity, with a high economic cost and especially an insufferable personal cost. It is shown that they are centres where situations of vulnerability are invisible and that we are facing an illegitimate and unconstitutional measure.
