Abstract

The final stages of follicular development are regulated by factors of various nature and origin which, through the participation of multiple autocrine, paracrine, and endocrine signaling systems, involving all the cellular lineages found in the follicle, are capable of taking it through the stages of maturation that culminate in ovulation and subsequent luteinization.
