Abstract

Real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is a method that allows the quantification of nucleic acids with great accuracy and reliability. It is based on the monitoring of PCR using fluorescence techniques. This allows the live visualization of the complete amplification profile of the target within a wide range of magnitude. The analysis of the product’s melting curve also enables the characterization of the amplified fragment by its melting temperature (Tm).
