Abstract

Among the multiple challenges that biochemistry had to face in the 20th century, is the one of providing an image of the cell, organized as a functional chemical system. In the sixties, the attempt was brilliantly crowned and the biochemist posed the need to know, not only the internal chemistry of the cells, but also the language for their intercommunication.
