Abstract

Ethnomedicine has been dedicated to investigating traditional knowledge and the pharmacopoeia of primitive societies with an approach that facilitates the discovery of new substances of interest for their application in clinical practice. One of the greatest attractions of Ethnomedicine is that it is a multidisciplinary science in which Anthropology, Sociology, Botany, Chemistry, and Biology, among others, participate, and it sometimes transcends the limits of the purely scientific and rational to delve into the field of the magical and the esoteric.
