Abstract

The text is a reflection on the concept of metabolic reprogramming, which is usually associated with cancer and other diseases, but which the author considers to be an inherent characteristic of metabolism
itself. This article argues that metabolism is the engine of life and something else, since it is a dynamic and plastic network that adapts to the internal and external conditions of each situation.
