Author Guidelines

Instructions for authors

1. All the contributions submitted must be unpublished or have the express authorization of the organization that owns the rights for their reproduction, in which case the edition will include the reference of their authorship. The manuscripts received will also be subject to review with technical means to detect plagiarism.

2. Each contribution will consist of a title, the full name of the author or authors, their affiliation (institutional, academic or professional), their postal address, email and telephone. To distinguish the affiliation of different authors use symbols (*, †, ‡, §, ¶, etc.) after each one's name.

3.The document can be sent in txt, rtf, sxw/odt (OpenOffice/LibreOffice), doc/docx (MSWord) or tex (LaTeX) format. Due to space restrictions, the length should not exceed 1600 words; otherwise, the publisher reserves the right to divide it into several parts that would appear in different numbers.

4. The names of the proteins will be written in capital letters and round (ABC or Abc). Those of genes and species will appear in italics (ABC, Homo sapiens). Terms that are cited in a language other than Spanish will also be put in italics.

5. Authors who are not Spanish-speaking can submit their manuscripts in English. Once accepted, the editorial team will prepare a summary in Spanish.

6. Tables, figures, drawings and other graphic elements must be attached in separate files. When possible, use the non-proprietary vector format pdf, svg, eps or ps. In the case of photographs or bitmap-type figures, they can be sent in jpg, tif or png format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. There is the possibility of incorporating short animations in gif format at low resolution.

7. The bibliographical references will be cited within the text itself, numbered in order of appearance. At the end of it, the Bibliography or References section will be included according to the style of the following example: 1. Einstein Z and Zwestein D. Spatial integration in the temporal cortex. Res Proc Neurophysiol Fanatic Soc 1: 45-52, 1974. 2. Sóbol I. Monte Carlo method. MIR, Moscow. 1976. If there are more than two authors, the first one will be cited followed by "and others". If the main text does not include bibliographical references, authors are requested to provide 3-4 general references “to know more” or “for more information”.

8. The commented image is encouraged to contribute to the section with original or freely distributed images (at least 300 dpi resolution) accompanied by a separate document with a brief comment of about 300 words related to it (description, information, technique, etc. ).

9. Any contribution for the different sections of the magazine will be considered.

10. Submission of contributions: the original will be sent by mail to the co-editors or to any other member of the editorial committee that they consider most related to the theme of the contribution. As a last resort, they can be sent by post along with a CD. No original will be returned to the authors.

11. The acceptance of all contributions will be made at the request of the members of the editorial team, with the co-editors maintaining the final decision on it in any case. Formal or content improvements may also be suggested to the author to adapt the article to the magazine's profile. The notification will be sent by email to the author listed as correspondent.
