Bark macrolichens were studied in different vegetation communities: evergreen cork oak (Quercus suber L.) woodlands, semideciduous oak (Quercus canariensis Willd.) woodlands and wild olive trees (Olea europaea L. var. oleaster DC.); the influence of lichen orientation on the composition and species number, as well as the effect of the phorophyte perimeter on the bark macrolichens diversity were studied. Semideciduous oak woodlands were found clearly different from the other groups of samples. Differences between north and south orientation in the group of plots of wild olive trees were detected. It was also observed that in the wild olive trees, the macrolichen diversity decreased when the phorophyte perimeter increased.
