Abstract

On the labours of a Spanish translator: the rare and scarce pleasures of translating in general; the difficulty of translating from a language in its creative acme to a language in need of a new sense of vitality; a few examples of the said unevenness; added difficulties: Mister Jonathan Franzen and his Dutch advisor; a short happy conclusion, nevertheless.
