Since the beginning of the 19th century, the Spanish population has changed its distribution throughout the territory, agglomerating around the medium and large cities and this has meant that, at present, we find ourselves with territories in the centre of the peninsula that are practically uninhabited.
The objective of this study is to quantify the affected territory and the percentage of the population it affects, check the demographic composition of these areas, and analyse the role played by women and their labour development.
To achieve this goal, we have carried out a statistical study of binary logistic regression in which we have included population variables with gender segmentation, broadband connectivity, unemployment rates and inhabitants per building. We have come out with 3 useful models to define which are the determining factors of depopulation, with the conclusion that the demographic evolution of the female sector is decisive when a territory can become depopulated.
