Abstract

We analyze multiple objective optimization problems in situations in which the preferences of the decision maker can be represented by additive functions and only partial information about the importance of the objectives is available. This analysis can also be interpreted in terms of group decision-making when different agents provide different weights for the objectives, and a consensus about the solution to choose has to be reached. In this context of partial information we introduce a class of solutions that can be considered as a compromise between the solutions based on a maxmin criterion and the utilitarian solutions. We also analyze some of their main properties.
